Jewel Care
Jewelry Care
- Your Jewels should be kept in a sealed bag when not wearing
- Avoid wearing jewels when applying perfume, body care, hair are, or any other sprays as these can increase the wear on your pieces.
- Remove your jewels while, working out, showering or swimming (gold filled pieces are tarnish resistant but over time can still loose shine if you decide to get wet constantly)
- Do not throw jewellery on hard or rough surfaces while taking them off. This can scratch the metals (take them off with care and place them in storage bags when not wearing them)
- You can clean your jewellery with a soft jewellery cloth.
Gold Plated Jewels vs Gold Filled
What is Gold Plated?
Gold Plated Jewelry goes through a process where a thin layer of gold is bonded onto a base metal usually brass. It's dipped in an electroplating solution, along with a piece of solid gold. Since this playing is a thin layer, it can lead the colour to wear off over time.
What is Gold Filled?
Gold Filled Jewellery is the closest too Fine Jewellery. It has an layer of gold-pressure bonded to another metal. Gold filled is has 100% more gold than gold plating. Gold filled is tarnish resistant; It does not rub off or turn colour. With proper care, Gold filled should last as long as solid 14k fine jewelry & works well and is safe with people with sensitive skin.
